Hi, my client use AS400 FTP to my sambar server and the FTP seems has come in to sambar server but with zero byte(there should be a file size). After that when customer try to FTP the second time, it can replace the zero byte file, but when our application try to read and process the file, it is failed because the first file is being held by the sambar FTP server and cause it hang. That is why it shows the process is being used by another process. So, we need to manually restart the Sambar FTP server to allow the application to process the file.
Any idea on if the first file is being held by the sambar server, can it automatically detect and cut off the holding process and allowed to accept for the second try without restart the sambar server?
Does it due to line connection problem? Usually is happen to the same file. Eg, client FTP 5 files, there will be 2 same files come in with zero byte even it should contain file size.
Below is the log when we check at FTP Log:
"STOR /xyz\xxxxx_111111.xml" 499 0 0 [can't open conn to client]
What is the meaning of 499? We Notice if the log is with 499, it will have problem.

Anyone have any idea?
Thank you.

try FTPing from a different computer but with the same user ID and Password. If things work correctly, then settings need to be adjusted on the AS400. If the same error exists when connecting from a different machine, then the problem exists on the sambar server, check privs, vhost settings, etc.
