Doubtful. I do not know why it was re-released, other than Breno forgot to announce it till the 1st of August. Change log still states 23rd July, 2012. I got it from the very same place as your link on the 23rd. Your original post is from the 27th, so you saw it too.

That is odd that it was re-released. My tar.gz I downloaded from there on the 23rd is:
https://www.apachehaus.net/misc/modsecurity-apache_2.6.7.tar.gz

OK, I see two changes, one is negligible, the other may be of more importance. I'll think about it. My question however is, does it work for you?

The changes, per changes file
* Fixed PCRE mismtach version warning message (Thanks Victor Julien).
COMMITED: Jul 3 19:12:51 2012 UTC
REVERTED: Aug 2 22:58:48 2012 UTC

* Added ctl:ruleRemoveTargetById that can be used to exclude targets to be processed per-request.
COMMITED: Jul 23 17:10:10 2012 UTC
MODIFIED: Jul 26 06:30:46 2012 UTC

I wish he'd of not pushed the first tag on the 23rd, or just burned a version number for the re-tag on the 2nd

I doubt the version of Monday, 23 July 2012 22:07 is premature. So,I post to ask you for confirmation.

Are there any differences between those two source codes?

Maybe it has minor bug at the pre-release version.Could you please to recompile it again? Smile

Yes there are two very minor changes. Not you or anyone one else has stated that it fails, so no I do not see the need to recompile/package for this.
