I have Windows 2003 server standart edition for my apache 2.2.2 with PHP 5.1.2 for intranet
I installed the server, but nothing more. What is usefull to install. I mean in the intranet we don't need it AD, IIS and all the other stuff. We use it only as file server in a workgroup it is not a domain. What is usefull to install?
Sure for what having then a w2k3 server when not using the components? buisness politics... don't ask... Wink

The network core is mutch mutch better in 2k3 server... XP Pro x64 also.
So thats a nice boost aswel.

Other than that i don't see what you could use 2k3 has to offer accept the extra security and optimizations.

2k3 also give the added benefit of having all unneed stuff disabled like the Windows Audio service, themes,... and has it settings set for background programs.
