I build php 5.1.4 with Visual c++ 2005 (VC8) and against the latest Mysql headers the one at php.net is build with VC6 and is build against very old Mysql headers.

I was suprised that I do *not* get the famous error once in the while anymore:

FATAL: erealloc(): Unable to allocate 1572864 bytes

There are some posts here at the forum about this issue, search for erealloc . Maybe I am lucky that I am not getting this error anymore, but I suspect Visual Studio C++ 2005, which have improvements in MemoryManagement over VC6.

Also the build is a little faster here.

Contact me for download,

Steffen
