I have recently been trying to set up a web server from home using the following:

DynDNS Updater
Apache 2.0.54
Belkin Router F5D7633-4Av1_AU

Firstly I registered a free domain at http://www.dyndns.com/ in the format xxxx.ath.cx, I downloaded the DynDNS updater to automatically update my dymanic IP address.

Then I setup my belkin router to port forward to 192.168.0.2 on ports 80 and 443. I then tried to access my web server and these are the following results:

Works:
127.0.0.1 (localhost)
192.168.0.2

Doesn't Work:
219.90.xxx.xxx
xxxx.ath.cx

I then tried enabling DMZ, and that didn't fix the problem either.

The exact message that appears when it fails is this:

The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

This should work, so what exactly is the problem is it a problem with my router or a problem with apache?

Does the xxxx.ath.cx point to your external IP?
I use dyndns too, but I know that only in the format yourname.dyndns.org

checkout your external IP
http://www.univie.ac.at/cgi-bin/ip.cgi

or

with the Updatetool

than ping xxxx.ath.cx if that point to the external IP you got.
