I cannot load mod_proxy_html (http://www.apachelounge.com/download/ the file mod_proxy_html-2.5.2-w32.zip) in the lattest Apache2 (2.2.4).

The error is:

httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 66 of E:/Open/Apache2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load E:/Open/Apache2/modules/mod_proxy_html.so into server: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I copied libxml2.dll and mod_proxy_html.so to the modules folder. And I set the following in httpd.conf:

LoadModule proxy_html_module modules/mod_proxy_html.so

Any hints?

Cheers,

The .zip contains a Readme First.txt file.

Did you remember to follow all the instructions in this file exactly?

The part about "Install the Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package" is important.
Skipping this step often gives the error you report.

I supose that it works with you. This is very good.

I am actually using Apache+php+perl with all binaries (where applicable) from ApacheLounge since 4th quarter last year. It is probably the SP1 because I just tried a clean install (Apache 2.2.4 + mod_proxy_html) in my home laptop and it worked. In my lap I use VS2005 with SP1 applied.

I will verify tomorrow if I forgot the SP1 and close this thread.

Cheers.
