oh crap .. that acutally worked! Says it's a Zip file but so what

Server wide in mime.types file just remove the mp3 from
audio/mpeg and add it to application/zip

per host see RemoveType and AddType
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_mime.html#addtype
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_mime.html#removetype

Looks a little tricky with the caveat. Docs state Virtual Hosts in the context so maybe RemoveType in vhost container, AddType in associated directory container ... and pray?

I use application/force-download

Maybe you add the type in a htaccess file or better in a location container. or as Gregg said global in the httpd.conf or change it in the mime.types fiel.

I learn something new today ... it's been many years since I've looked in that mime.types file ... guess I need to go through it again. Thanks James.
