I don't think it comes before 2011. Maybe if 1.3 will be ended soon it might getting faster.

1. They need to decide which API/ABI they want to stick with
2. Need to get a honest APR 1.4+ release that matches
3. Get some alpha's out so people can hammer out the problems.

#1 is causing problems making #2 happen so even tho we already have a #3 no one seems to want to touch it since #2 is in flux cause they cannot decide on #1 Confused

That is my interpretation of events at least.

APR 1.4.1 has been tagged. Maybe I try compiling 2.4 with it. Only trouble I see with it that apr-util is now merged into apr, but compiling still requieres the srclib\apr-util folder. So you are right with the match to apr.

edit

What is with apr 2.0?

Hey Mario,

That is only Trunk ... which is APR 2.0 most likely now since they have branched off 1.4 and 1.5 already.

There was a vote for APR 1.4.1 but AFAIK it never passed due to problems building on some form of Unix. There is no release! http://www.apache.org/dist/apr/

APR-Util is still seperate in 1.4 and it will all compile last I tried. There was word before Christmas on tagging it but that never happened either AFAIK.

But what you want for now is
svn update http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/apr/apr/branches/1.4.x/ \build\httpd-2.3.x\srclib\apr
svn update http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/apr/apr-util/branches/1.4.x/ \build\httpd-2.3.x\srclib\apr-util

Don't forget APR-Iconv ... seems to still be required ... stuck at v. 1.2.1

Well after fixing the build order / depencies it worked. Everything build.

Only for the record. I had so use svn co instead of svn update
Wink

For those who wonder where there is a commandline svn. I use svn-win32-1.6.6.zip from http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=8100 just up the extracted files into %path%. Or use tortoise svn, but there is no cool command line Mr. Green
