I have been running 2.055 for some time now and would like to upgrade to 2.2 so I can use the mod_proxy_html binaries listed on this site. I am only familiar with installing Apache using the .msi file and not from a zip file. I know that I must be missing something obvious but what is the procedure for installing the 2.2 binaries. Is there an install program or are other tools required to install this?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Just copy over all the files, exept the conf folder.

In most cases your old config is working with 2.2, see http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/upgrading.html

You can also start from scratch: copy the zip to a test location and change the paths in httpd.conf to this location. Set the listen directive to eg. 85 and you can test on an other port. This metod I prefer, because the new httpd.conf is organized in an other way.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I tend to make things more complicated than they need to be (-:

Also, thanks for pointing out the upgrade documentation.

Have a great holiday,
Matt
