I'm rebuilding my WAMP setup after having had to reinstall XPsp3 when it got too flaky to carry on.

The 2015 redistributable installed without complaint, and hashes verified for the zip file and for the executable. It should install and run fine. But it doesn't and since XP is, as always, very sparing with information, I've no clue as to where to go next.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks! Perhaps prominently identifying the supported operating systems at the download point would cause fewer errors like mine? Mr. Green

Microsoft are doing everything in their power to force people to upgrade, but XP was, to paraphrase Sir Tony's words, "a great improvement on its successors".

And, as recently as April according to industry sources, millions of people still have no intention of upgrading. Having wasted time and money on a copy of Win 7, I fully understand and share their feelings. I do all my 64-bit work under FreeBSD.
