Hello,
I have 534 websites on my 16G ubuntu server. I get a segmentation fault everytime I try to enable a new website in sites-enabled and then restart apache. If I disable any other site then I can enable it, so it is not the website. On the server there are 2 sites that use drupal 6, 8 sites that use drupal 7 and 524 use a custom template system.

I have tried changing the memory allocation to 1G and the prefork settings higher. I have tried to google this for days and can not find an answer. I know there is not a limit of 535 sites so does anyone have an idea?

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

Maybe it is a known issue.
See http://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/vhosts/fd-limits.html
