hi,
upon sugesstion from a forum, i downloaded "httpd-2.2.4_x64.exe" from this site: "http://www.blackdot.be/?inc=apache/binaries". well, i extracted and installed it but later found that it just installs, there is no useful shortcuts and the taskbar for ApacheMonitor. upon reading the install txt file, i found that we need *..msi package for these requirements.

well, as there is no such file in this URL, can anyone guide me to get the .msi package.

actually am new to this stuff and am on to end user only. so such exe installation just makes me worry more.

to say, i tried with "apache_2.2.4-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi" and it worked but later on after configuring php-5.2.4-x64, i didnt work due to compatibility issue. as i have PHP x64, i needed Apache x64 version.

also, how can i uninstall the recently installed httpd-2.2.4_x64.exe. it dosnt show up in Add/remove. also, in services, i cant locate it as by which name it is being used. am confused actually where has it been installed??? i think i made mistake by running the exe.... feeling dumb on it....

help me plsssssssssssssss...

thanks in adv

There is no msi required for running that. For uninstalling:
browse to apache\bin
and httpd -k uninstall That removes the service.
Than you can remove / delete all the files.

thanks James Blond for your kind response.

i have uninstalled and deleted the folder. going by the scenario for people like us, end users, i feel that running x64 versions are not easy as x86/32 bit ones. if such is the case then i hope that working PHP with IIS7 would be more comfortable.. what do you suggest. go on trying with Apache x64 like a pro or simply go for IIS7??

working apache PHP Mysql in xp OS is lot comfortable though. this win 64 is the issue out here and this version seems only for tech geeks.

so.... ?? am confused. pls suggest your valuable opinion
