I have been googling for some code to show which country an IP address is from, and came across this website:-

http://www.appelsiini.net/~tuupola/196/i18nip2country

I've got the database downloaded and installed into MySQL but the instructions then say to issue the PEAR command........ etc.

But I've not heard of PEAR before - does anyone know what it is? Confused

Cheers,
Phil.

They probably describe it best on their site:
http://pear.php.net/

They have some pretty useful PHP modules, I use one that generates excel sheets:

http://pear.php.net/package/Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer

I would compare it to something CPAN for Perl, modules on demand that are configurable, etc. This particular site appears to have written a PHP module for their code.
