Hi everyone! every time I try to start apache server V 2.2.6 it opens a command prompt window, wich says: no listening sockets availible, sutting down
unable to open logs
note the error messages or press ESC to exit. what should I do?
I have tried unistalling and reinstalling 3 times, and I have also formated the disk(not for this reason only ) but when I type in the browser localhost, it works, and it shows me the test page I built. . also the httpd procces is runnig, but the apache icon isn't in the tray. note that I haven't changed the default server directory at the httpd.conf file. Ihope you understood me. My english isn't very good |

If the httpd process is running and showing your test page, then Apache is already running.
The Apache program is httpd.exe.
If Apache is already running, you cannot run httpd.exe again or you will get the error you describe.
The icon in the tray is not Apache - it is a separate program called ApacheMonitor.exe which is used to start and stop Apache.
