eAccelerator works with php 5.2.7, even together with Zend Optimizer 3.3.3!  , just a little bit slower than 5.2.6.
Quick tested on Apache Lounge distribution 2.2.11 (RC), so far so good, still runnung.

Stick with 5.2.6
