I downloaded the apache 2.2 binarie with ssl from this site.
http://www.apachelounge.com/download/

But i cant start it, get the following error. (actually with every exe file within the apache directory)

Quote:
The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling this application may fix this problem.

Well i downloaded the zip a hundred times, but every time i get the same error.

Its a fresh windows 2003 standard SP1 32bit server installation. I also tried it on Windows xp 32bit SP2. Same error.

Hope someone can help me.

The Apache compiled from Steffen WON'T run without! Because Steffen used a different compiler.
This is not the normal compiled Apache from Apache.org

Is this one faster, or slower? Or no difference? And is it using more resources or less?

Sorry for the questions Mr. Green

There is no Apache binary with SSL from Apache.org.

The build from Apachelounge is build with the latest Microsoft C++ compiler and has quite some improvements over the very old one used by Apache.org. It produces more optimzed code and better memory management etc.
