At the download page here Tom's modules are updated to version v1.0.5
Tom pointed me that the configuration instructions are at:

DBD Virtual Host module - mod_vhost_dbd.so
Overrides the document root directory for a request to a value returned by an SQL query.
DBD Logging Module - mod_log_dbd.so
Logs access to a database table in conjunction with CustomLog, using the CustomLog format codes.
