| Server
 in httpd.conf
 under ServerName localhost add;

 ServerAlias server1

For Vista, 2008 & Win7 (not needed on XP or 2003)
right click on the Wordpad (or your favorite text editor) icon and chose "Run as Administrator"

Open file c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts <- no file extension

Add to the file the save:

 127.0.0.1 server1

 Other computer

 Open file c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Add to the file then save:

 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx server1

[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx should be the LAN IP of the server machine]

 Now, from either computer
 http://server1

Will show you what you want to see

| Hi Glsmith,
 Thank you for your information.

I have one computer with windows7 and another computer with Linux OS. I want to configure the webserver on Windows OS, Later I want it to use the webserver access from Linux OS.

If I configue the webserver as you mentioned, then is it possible to access the webserver from linux machine to windows machine?.

 Thank you

| sure, it's over TCP and both are on the same LAN yes? Linux has a hosts file as well, I cannot point you to where it is however.

In 99,8% it is /etc/hosts. The syntax is the same as for windows.
