I used the compiled Apache installer from here (http://www.apachelounge.com/download/win32/binaries/httpd-2.4.4-win32.zip).

I am now trying to launch web server and it just errors on all of the module .so files. I recall something about having to use .dll's before but I don't remember how I obtained them.

Any help please?

What errors do you get ? Look in the Windows Event viewer and/or Apache error log.

Strange, simply unzipping 2.4 should copy all(101) the modules to the modules folder. Maybe you changed some in the httpd.conf.
