Apache Server is as it says a Software that is a Server for serving webpages.
WordPress hosting can be any kind of web server, doesn't have to be Apache, that serves WordPress web pages.
So an Apache web server can be used for WordPress hosting. |

Hi,
I'd like to add that wordpress hosting uses a heavily modified version of WordPress for its own server and that it's very difficult to transfer this WordPress to another server or to a local server. |
