| I have found that I can backspace the dir that I am at, but i have a bigger problem.
If i typed a command (httpd - k restart), and then I fixed the problem (- k to -k), I would find that part of my dir is erased. I do not know why that happens, and if I can fix it. Did this happen to you?

EDIT: I fixed the problem. I needed to choose Ctrl-H in the config panel.

| Is this a WinSSHD or PuTTY issue?
PuTTY is odd, not as refined as DOS or SSH on Unix, but to go back press SHIFT-BACK, that is it.

I have used PuTTY for about one year and to date, ZERO problems of any time. And the big advantage - s e c u r i t y.

I don't understand how this relates to Mac, clue me in please

Is there a problem with WinSSHD not working for you? remember, you have to differentiate between the server and the client, a problem with PuTTY does not equate to a problem with the WinSSHD or what ever server you choose to use.

| It actually is a freeSSHd problem.
Do you have the same problem with WinSSHD?

| What i ment was that it is indeed a freeSSHd problem, when i connect to my mac (it runs an ssh server aswel) i don't have the problem.
I haven't tried WinSSHd so i can't comment on that.
