We use apache httpd as the web server in our project , currently we observe handle leaks from modsecurity versions [2.9.3 - 2.9.6] and I also found that a fix for this issue has been committed in apr 1.7.x. And was also listed on the list of changes in apr 1.7.1 .

http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/apr/apr/branches/1.7.x/CHANGES?view=markup

See the changes for APR 1.7.1:

*) Fix handle leak in the Win32 apr_uid_current implementation.
PR 61165. [Ivan Zhakov]

We are really interested in knowing when the source code of Apr 1.7.1 will be released .

Thanks for sharing the fix ,

but unfortunately our company policy forbids us from using the thirdparty Binaries off the shelf .

we can only use the released source code to build binaries

it would be really helpful if apr 1.7.1 sorce code is released

The fix is committed after the voting process.

So it is a official change.

Note:
James Blond (Mario) and I are committers and members of the PMC (project management committee). We do not see us as a 100% third party for windows.
