Hi
Has anybody ever tried to install Apache2 on a windows 2003 cluster? I have already found alterternatives using dns. My goal is to build a high-availability failover solution using MS cluster service. Is there an argument against this?

I haven't installed that on a cluster yet, only on a domain controller. Only thing that you have to make sure is permanently have all files from htdocs and maybe the data from the DB at all servers. I'm not sure if there a is a syncronisation tool implemented in 2003 or you have to find one.
I use all binaries from apachelounge. Before I updated PHP to 5.1.6 Apache sometimes crashes.
Think to have a syncron DB is the worsest part of that. Are you using MySQL?
There is a cluster version, but that is not free. |

| Database is a further issue. The goal is to have a fail over clustered Apache with two load balanced Tomcats in the back. Additionally mysql, which should be a fail over clustered as well. This is peace of cake in a RedHat Enterprise Cluster Server evironment. After all, the question is if MySQL and Apache can be run on windows cluster services, too. |
