Talked with a guy from 1&1 (big german provider maybe the biggest). He said that a lot of people asking for 64-bit root servers. Mainly kids and people who donĀ“t know what they are doing. He said that is a big business and laughed. Embarassed

Why should someone generally move to a 64-bit Windows system running a Apache what is the main advantage? As far as i know this only costs money for newer hardware.

I have arround 230.000 page visits and 110.000 users per month on one of my websites. I use static pages for this website. What would be the advantage if i use a 64-bit OS?

as of now not to much. Only advantage I see is that you can have 8gb of memory available to programs.
