Dear Apache Lounge,
I have a strange problem. For some reason, whenever apache crashes, it refuses to auto-restart itself. Now I have configured the machine to "Restart Service" on the First, Second, and Subsequent failures thru Windows Services Manager, but it seems to ignore those instructions. Can anyone help me understand why? Whenever apache crashes, I have to manually restart the service. Is there any other software available, that would auto-restart the service when it fails?

Which version of apache do you use? Which os? On some OS restarting don't work. Only thing that works is stop and start . In Version 2.2.4 are a lot of bugfixes.
With 2.2.3 I had the same phemomen. In 2.2.4 it worked for me under w2k3 standart edtion.
Can you see in the error log or windows events log what crashes apache? |

I have Windows Server 2003, and I'm using 2.2.4 . With PHP 5.2 |

| I know in Unix they have programs to monitor services, and restart them if they crash. Are there any for windows? |
